Ishita Deshmukh is, in many ways, a mascot for national integration! Born to Bengali and Gujarati parents, she grew up on a steady diet of Tamil culture and French literature (in the lovely town of Puducherry). If that wasn’t enough, she is married to a Telugu bidda. She has this uncanny (and unnerving) ability to switch between six different languages in the course of a conversation.
Ishita is a multi-tasking marketing professional with over 2 decades of experience. She recently worked in a Indian Classical Arts organisation as a marketing executive, organising small to large events with some celebrated artistes. She also runs a small home business in Singapore, called Dessert Storm.
Ishita is passionate about the arts, loves painting, playing the piano and embroidery. She is a regular fixture at the neighbourhood library, and has a special place in her heart for romantic fiction. Ishita has always dreamed of becoming a writer. She took the first step by publishing her debut novel ‘Heart Quake’ in May 2018. She is currently working on her second one.
Ishita is not a foodie. However she loves to conjure up scrumptious food for her family and friends. Her desserts are lip-smacking good. Now, a mom of two little angels, she is juggling new learnings with her passion, while creating a whole new world around her.
This blog reflects Ishita’s journey through life.
